.1.A cochlear implant is an artificial hearing tool that uses electricity to stimulate nerves in the inner ear, which send sound signals to the brain. The Bionic Ear or cochlear implant helps a deaf person to hear what an another person is speaking.

.2.The device was first shown to a patient in 1978. The Bionic Ear is worn by over 20,000 deaf people in over than 55 countries.

.3.It opened a new world for people who are deaf to hear more about God and his gospel.

.4.It gave a chance to deaf people to speak up like us.

     Graeme Clark invented the cochlear implant so that more than 15000 people in the world can hear. It helped deaf people able to communicate with other people and helped deaf people stand up for them self. Imagine a world where you can't hear any of the sounds around you. E.g. birds chirping, popular music, worship songs, people talking and students laughing . These are all sounds that God created and would want us to enjoy. If you couldn't hear these sounds, wouldn't this be painful or depressing? Not being able to hear leads to "Inequality" and this is not what God wants people to feel.

      In the Bible, Isaiah 29:18 states "And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the god, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness." ; and Matthew 11:5 reports "The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor." 

     The cochlear implant supports the bible. God wants us to have equal opportunities to hear the messages from other Christians about God and how to become a Christian. The cochlear implant leads to better communication between people which creates a pathway for people to hear the gospel message. The cochlear implant can help deaf people go to church and hear what other Christians say to them. Also, it can help other people be equal just like God planned us to be in the scripture. If we can help the deaf people, more people can have the chance to share God's words.
